SAIL Reports 5.2% Growth in Crude Steel for FY 23-24

SAIL held its 52nd Annual General Meeting at its headquarters in Lodi Road, New Delhi, where Chairman Amarendu Prakash addressed shareholders via a virtual platform.

In his address, he reflected on the previous year’s performance and expressed confidence that SAIL can aspire to be the best in the industry. He highlighted the Indian Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the nation’s social, digital, and physical infrastructure, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, which has boosted steel demand across various sectors.

He summarized SAIL’s achievements for FY 23-24, noting record production figures: 20.5 million tonnes (MT) of Hot Metal, 19.24 MT of Crude Steel, and 18.44 MT of Saleable Steel, representing growth rates of 5.6%, 5.2%, and 6.9% respectively compared to the previous year. He also mentioned that SAIL achieved its highest sales turnover of ₹1,04,545 crore during FY 24.

Additionally, he emphasized SAIL’s commitment to two main focus areas: maximizing capacity utilization and delivering exceptional value to customers. He assured that SAIL would continue to engage with stakeholders, enhance asset utilization, and proactively stay ahead of industry trends.
